I’m a single mom asking for help after a really frightening and unexpected situation.

My son was riding his bike through a marked crosswalk when he was struck by a car. The driver stopped briefly, asked if he was okay, and then left the scene. This incident was later classified as a hit-and-run.

What we didn’t know in that moment was how serious the injuries were. My son was taken to the ER, and he’s now on crutches while he heals. Thankfully, he’s expected to recover — but it’s been painful, scary, and emotionally heavy for all of us.

His bike was completely destroyed in the accident. We were already borrowing it, and as a single mother, replacing it right now just isn’t financially possible for me. Riding his bike wasn’t just transportation - it was freedom, confidence, and joy for him.

I’m creating this fundraiser to help replace his bike (or an e-bike once he’s cleared to ride again) so he can regain a sense of normalcy and independence after such a traumatic experience.
