Help Marcela's Niece Rebuild After Fires
Donation protected
My name is Marcela, a Los Angeles native, and I’m trying to do what I can to help my niece who has been displaced due to the Altadena fires.
My niece worked so hard to establish her independence and had finally landed in a small place in Altadena. To say I am proud of her accomplishments is an understatement. My niece lived in Altadena for six months. She was just starting to experience the joys of being independent. Although she struggled from time to time, she’s fiercely ambitious to better her life. Of course, I am here to help her as much as I can. Knowing she lost everything down to her favorite mug breaks my heart. The outpouring support of the community has been extremely helpful.
I would like to raise money to help her buy a reliable car. On top of the tragedy she’s facing, her car has broken down from all the driving around she’s had to do in the last ten days to try and piece her life back together. She’s currently staying with her grandparents far away from home, unable to commute back and forth to be able to show up for resources and donations. Anything helps. I will, of course, do what I can to help her in my own way, but I also wanted to show her that sometimes we really do need to be able to call on the community because she is deserving.
