My name is Sarah (aka Lumpy to many in the online community), and I would love for you to read what I’m hoping to achieve for my close friend Mapen.

As many of you know, behind every screen name is a real person. Some people pass through our lives, while others leave a lasting impact and become true friends and our online family. For me, Mapen is one of those people — someone I’m deeply grateful to have met along my journey.

Right now, Mapen and his brother in Egypt are struggling to get by after the loss of their mother. They are living with the bare minimum, but they have an opportunity to turn things around. There is a run-down apartment that, with some work, could be repaired and rented out, giving them a stable source of income and a real chance at independence.

The apartment requires:

Payment of old bills (gas, electric & water)

A new kitchen & bathroom

A water tank installation, including water meter and pump

Complete rewiring for safe electrics

Floor and ceiling repairs

Window replacements

Painting & decorating

Basic furniture to make it liveable

We are setting a modest target of £3,000. The repairs should not cost this much, but we want to ensure all essentials are covered.

The main priority is to make the apartment functional so it can provide a regular income for the brothers. Any funds left over will not go to waste — they will be used for other apartment or household needs.

This is not just about repairing an apartment. It’s about giving two brothers the chance to rebuild their lives, create stability, and move forward with dignity and hope.
