This is Maliyah's story told by her parents.

"Our journey with Maliyah started a little over 3 years ago. She was born with a super rare genetic condition called Megacystis Microcolon Intestinal Hypoperistasis Syndrome (MMIHS). In short, her digestive tract works super slow or sometimes not at all. God has given us a miracle in that she has been able to eat and drink with the assistance of IV nutrition.

We had a good stretch for about 10 months without any hospitalizations until 19 days ago she was life flighted from Kauai to Kapiolani Medical Center on Oahu. Maliyah was rushed into emergency surgery for a perforated stomach from complications from MMIHS. We have since been battling high fevers due to infection and just had her 3rd surgery this admission. Maliyah has been such a trooper and God has been our source of strength.
