We lost our dad, Ed Doubleday, in a freak accident that took place last week. He was hit by a truck and sustained a serious brain injury that left him unresponsive for the last few days he was kept alive with machines. He officially passed away at 3:33 pm May 18th. He left behind seven children and a wonderful wife that are all so devestated by his loss but we are all going to do everything we can to make sure everything he wanted to happen after we lose him happens. He always told us to throw the biggest party we could possibly throw because he never wanted to be mourned, he wanted to be celebrated! He also always talked about being turned into a coral reef. With the amount of love he always had for the ocean, this probably comes as no surprise to anyone that knows him. His eldest, Melissa Doubleday, wants to make all of his last wishes come true but can't do it on her own. Anything donated will go to her. Losing him is hard enough but the thought of not being able to help him make these things happen really weighs down on the family. Anything helps, even if it's just keeping the family in your thoughts. The boat dad called his second home for over 20 years is going to be a part of his memorial service and Melissa hopes to get a few other boats to join as well.
