Help Make Bearna Safe – Road Safety for Our Children
Our village deserves safe roads for our community to walk, cycle, and attend school. Our village lacks basic safety measures – no speed controls or signage and dangerously narrow footpaths.
Children walking to Scoil Sheamais Naofa must navigate the busy R336 daily, with no protection from fast-moving traffic. Bearna families urgently need your help. Despite years of engagement, repeated calls to Galway County Council, and many applications for funding grants, no action has been taken. The recent opening of the new service station has escalated risks further, and we are now forced to take matters into our own hands.
Funds raised will support:
*A professional Road Safety Assessment to identify and prioritise necessary works
*Initial partial funding toward critical safety measures (signage, footpaths, crossing works)
We shouldn’t have to do this - but we want to avoid tragedy.
Every donation brings us closer to a safer Bearna for everyone.
Please support our campaign and share widely.
Let’s make safety happen together.
