Help Create a Safe Playground for 80+ Kids in Texicio, Mizata

In the small coastal community of Texicio in Mizata, El Salvador, more than 80 children attend a local school that serves one of the poorest neighborhoods in the region.

Over the past year, thanks to the generosity of friends and supporters, we’ve already been able to help the school make meaningful improvements. Together we helped them build a small library and install new toilets, giving students access to basic facilities that many schools take for granted.

Now we want to take the next step.

Right now the children have very limited safe spaces to play, rest, and spend their breaks. The schoolyard lacks proper sports equipment and durable furniture where students can sit together and eat.

Our goal is to raise funds to create a safe and joyful playground area for these kids.

What the funds will support

Your donation will help us provide:

⚽ New soccer goalposts so kids can play the sport they love

Basketball hoops and nets for recreation and teamwork

Safe tables and benches where students can eat and spend time together

Basic playground improvements to make recess safer and more fun

Improvements to the yard so children have a welcoming space during breaks

Why this matters

For many of these children, school is more than a place to learn — it’s their safest space to grow, play, and build friendships.

Having access to sports and safe communal spaces helps improve confidence, teamwork, physical health, and happiness. Small improvements can have a huge impact on daily life for these students.

Building on progress in Mizata

This initiative is part of a broader effort by the Mizata community and supporters to improve opportunities for children in the area. Step by step, we’re working to create better spaces for learning, sports, and community life.
