Help make a dark moment a little lighter.

Donation protected

Can you help me make a dark moment a little lighter for someone?

I’m fundraising for the Snowdrop bereavement suite in Gloucester Royal Hospital so that a mural can be painted in the room. If we exceed the £350 needed for this then money will be spent on other things that they need in the room, such as items in the kitchen/living room area

The goal is £350, buy April 1st 2020 !!!

Why I'm doing this.....

The day our babies are born are full of joy. Finally, after 9 months (actually 10!) we get to meet the baby we have been thinking of every day.  The baby we have felt grow inside us every day. The baby we have been so looking forward to welcoming into the world and our families.

For many families, the day their baby is born is filled with sadness like no other.

On May 23rd 2014, I went into labour with a perfectly healthy full-term baby girl. Due to complications during labour, my daughter Bethan was stillborn.

I was cared for and spent time with my daughter and family in the Snowdrop bereavement suite in Gloucester Royal Hospital in the maternity ward.

The Snowdrop suite is a hospital room with an adjoining room that has a sofa bed and kitchenette. The 'suite' is two adjoining rooms set aside for parents who have lost a baby either late on in pregnancy or shortly after the birth.

Some parents choose to use the room for a short time to say goodbye and some use the room for a number of days in order to come to terms with what has just happened and to spend as much time with their little one as they need.

I recently contacted the bereavement midwife at GRH to see what fundraising they needed. They are looking to raise £350 to paint a mural in the snowdrop suite. They are hoping it will help the room feel a little more comfortable for those who sadly need the bereavement suite.

If we exceed the £350 there are many other items they need.

Once the fundraising is done and the mural is complete I will update you all with photos of the painting and information about anything else we purchased for the room.

I’m so grateful for your donation to this cause, not only for the mural but for me, it’s also in memory of my daughter and a thank you back to those who looked after me and my family in the bereavement suite.

We want to be able to make this time as comfortable as possible for other parents going through the same thing we have.

Whatever you can afford is enough. Thanks for helping, It means a lot. x
