Help Majo Stay with Her Family in the US

Majo is truly one of the kindest, most genuine people you will ever meet. She has such a deep love for her family, and she carries herself with so much respect, warmth, and determination. Anyone who knows her can feel that right away.

She was born in Guatemala but actually took her very first steps here in the United States when she was just a year old. Years later, she returned to Guatemala, where she has been working incredibly hard toward her dream of becoming a lawyer. She’s currently in her third year of law school and is also finishing her certifications to become a paralegal.

Majo never had plans to move to the United States permanently. That only changed when she met my brother, Joshua. They fell in love, got married, and started building a beautiful life together here—with their dog Loki and an amazing circle of close friends who have become like family.

Since the moment they decided to build a life together, they have both done everything they could to follow the legal immigration process the right way. They’ve put in time, effort, and everything they have financially, with nothing but honest intentions and hope for their future.

Unfortunately, they recently hit a major setback. Her green card application was denied due to how she originally entered the country on a tourist visa. Now, the only way forward is to apply for a waiver—a process that is both complicated and expensive. The legal fees alone are at least $6,000, and right now, they simply don’t know how they’re going to manage that.

This has been incredibly overwhelming and discouraging for both of them. They’ve tried so hard to do everything right, and now they’re facing the possibility of being separated or even her being banned from returning—all because of something she never intended when she first came here.

Our family is asking for help during this incredibly difficult moment. If you are able to donate, share, or even just spread the word, it would mean more than we can express. We are on a limited timeline, and every bit of support brings us closer to keeping Majo here legally with the people who love her.

Thank you for taking the time to read her story and for standing with us.
