Help Majeed Reunite with His Daughters

Majeed and his two daughters, Nada and Hadil, have been valued members of our community since arriving in the United States in 2018. They came here on legal visas and have worked hard to build a life, with both daughters graduating from our local high school and earning the respect of teachers and neighbors alike. Majeed has supported his family as a driver, and the girls have been self-sufficient, never seeking public assistance. Their journey has been marked by hope and determination to contribute positively to our society.

Recently, their lives were turned upside down when Nada and Hadil were unexpectedly detained by immigration authorities. Despite having legal documents and an ongoing asylum case, both sisters were taken into custody and transferred between detention centers far from home. The trauma of this experience has been immense, and the family now faces mounting legal expenses to secure their release and continue their asylum petition. Majeed, overwhelmed by fear and stress, has been unable to work, leaving him unable to pay for rent, utilities, or car payments. The immediate need is to keep a roof over their heads so Nada and Hadil have a home to return to, while also covering the legal costs necessary to fight for their freedom and future.

While some local charities have provided one-time support and food donations, these resources are limited and cannot meet the ongoing needs. The family’s attorney continues to work on their behalf, but additional funds are urgently needed for legal fees related to the girls’ incarceration. Nada and Hadil have always strived to do everything right and have contributed so much to our community. I am asking friends and neighbors to join me in restoring justice and hope to this family.
