On February 16, 2024, our Seneca Ridge community in Sterling, VA, endured a devastating home explosion—a day that profoundly changed us. This tragedy claimed the life of a brave Volunteer Firefighter and left several other firefighters injured in the line of duty. Beyond the physical damage, the event left a deep and lasting emotional impact on our entire community.

In the spirit of healing and with hope for the future, the property was purchased by two long-term Seneca Ridge residents. With incredible effort and community assistance, the scarred site has been transformed into a peaceful place of healing, scenic enjoyment, and quiet reflection.

This space serves as a focal point for our shared memory and resilience. Is open to the public for passive recreational use with some benches and small walking paths.

The owners are currently carrying the full responsibility for the site’s ongoing maintenance and management. The funds raised here are not for the initial construction, but are crucial for ensuring the long-term future maintenance and management of this site.
