Hello my name is Danielle Jae Daguman and I've had the pleasure of growing up in the small city Maasin, Southern Leyte. I'm currently residing in Henderson, Nevada however most of my family members are still in the Visayan region of Cebu and Southern Leyte, Philippines. I am organizing this gofundme to help my hometown recover from the natural disaster that occured recently.

 

Due to its geographical location, the Philippines is prone to many typhoons and on December 16, 2021, Typhoon RAI or locally known as "Bagyong Odette" made a devastating effect on my hometown. Odette rapidly strengthened from a Category 1 to a Category 5 equivalent storm with the typhoon causing around 190 mph wind in the span of 24 hours.

 

Due to the strong winds of the storm there are little to no electricity or receptions throughout the entirety of Southern Leyte. My family and the people of Maasin are also left with no food, clean drinking water and shelter during this holiday.

 

The donations received from this gofundme will be used for food, clean water, shelter, clothes and medical care for my family (in Cebu and Maasin) and the people of Maasin. Donations over $1000 will be sent to the Diocese of Maasin - a local church congregation that will be in charge of appropriately allocating to those in need.
