Manuel and Lety need help to free Manuel from immigration detention, and to survive while he is detained.

Manuel is a hard-working roofer and framer, a loving partner to Lety, and a devoted, responsible father supporting 6 children. Manuel and Lety recently celebrated the birth of their first baby together, who is just 3 months old. Manuel has been in the United States for 18 years and has built a life here, but now ICE is trying to destroy it. Manuel was a victim of wage theft prior to his detention, and the immigration enforcement system was weaponized against him. ICE is not honoring the fact that Manuel has a pending U visa application.

We are raising funds to support legal fees and bond for Manuel, and living expenses for Lety and her children until Manuel is home. The immigration attorney requires a $4,000 deposit to start work. We anticipate that Manuel's bond is likely to be set at around $4,000, if the immigration judge grants it. Lety and her children need rent and grocery money as she applies for jobs and childcare so that she can go back to work. That is why we have set our initial goal at $10,000.
