A Journey of Service, Loss, and the Path Forward
For most of my life, I have been proud to call Los Angeles County my home. As a business owner, I had the privilege of serving neighbors across the county for many years, building deep roots and strong connections throughout our community. My life was defined by that work, by raising my son, Albourie, in this area, and by the bond I shared with him as he grew up attending school at Paul Revere Middle School and Palisades High School.
However, the last two years have been a period of profound change. Shortly after I moved to Hawthorne, I faced the most devastating loss of my life: the death of my son, Albourie, on September 3, 2024. He was my rock, the person I leaned on most, and the center of my world.
As if that pain were not enough, the date of September 3rd would mark another tragedy exactly one year later in 2025, when I lost my service animal LADYBUG of 13 years. Losing both my son and my faithful companion on the very same day, just one year apart, stripped away the pillars of my daily life and my sense of stability.
These events, following a life of hard work and community service across L.A. County, have left me in a position I never imagined: I am currently experiencing homelessness.
I am reaching out to the community I have served for so long to ask for your help. My goal is to secure safe, stable housing where I can begin to process this grief and rebuild my life with the dignity I have always strived to maintain.
Your support is more than just a donation—it is a lifeline. Whether you can contribute financially or simply share this story with your own network, you are helping me build the bridge I need to get back on my feet.
Thank you for your kindness, for honoring the memory of my son and my companion, and for helping me find my way back home.
Sincerely ,
LYTRISCHA PORCHIA
