I’m starting this fundraiser for bathroom repairs I can’t keep putting off. My bathroom floor is unstable, the area under the toilet is nearly rotted completely through, and I don’t currently have hot water. I also found long-term damage behind the shower wall from a leak that looks like it has been there for years. I haven't had a working shower all summer and no hot water since August. A lot of things were neglected during my dad’s illness; for instance, the only person who tried to fix the floor under the toilet just stuck those license plates under there and I can't remove them now; and I did not realize how bad the bathtub/water heater area had gotten until I tried to change a shower valve and found the leak, which has rotted the framing under the bathtub. The water heater had stopped working right before I discovered the leaky plumbing. It may be a cheap element or that the water heater's lifespan is up. Plans for repairs were moving forward, but plans and circumstances can change suddenly and without warning. I'm left to deal with this on my own now on a very limited income (SSDI) and budget.
The funds from this fundraiser will help with immediate repairs to stabilize things: replacing the plumbing and framing behind the shower, stabilizing the floor under the toilet, and repairing the water heater. This is the best estimate I could get based on an initial look by the contractor, taking into consideration some materials I already have on hand. I know that once work starts surprises can come up, and the water heater may need anything from a $25 element to full replacement.
The bigger picture is that the entire floor is sinking. Long term, the plans include shoring up the foundation and replacing the entire floor, some framing and drywall, and installing a shower. I have a tentative plan for that, but it will take time and a much larger budget. Right now I just need these temporary measures until that can move forward. Once everything is ready to turn back on, I may also need a new pressure tank in the wellhouse.

It is hard to predict the actual cost before beginning, but this is the best estimate I could get for what has to happen first. I’ve put this off for a long time because it's so hard to ask, but I really need help. If you are able to donate or share this fundraiser, I would be deeply grateful for any support.
