My whole life, I've wanted to be a momma!  Will you help me welcome a little one into my life? 

Around age 11 I had a dream of 4 kiddos, 3 dogs, lots of chickens out of the hustle and bustle so my kids could have a fun life.  A lot has changed since then!  As a teen I was very sick and got the news that I may never be able to have children.  In adulthood, the road has been long and winding, and at times I tried to talk myself into believing I didn't want kids -  the thought of not being able to was/is so painful. But the longing of my heart to have a little one is very strong.

Have I tried? Yep!  Due to some medical concerns, I am not able to do it the old fashioned way.  With support from my loving friends, family, my OB, medications, and talking to my acupuncturist, and other healers I've spent 3 years exploring my options and doing my research to explore possibilities.  

 

Oregon has one of the premier fertility centers in the country, so I'm counting myself lucky! Unfortunately, OR is not one of the 19 states that include fertility treatment in health insurance, so I'm applying for grants and reaching out to loved ones for help.  The average cost is $16,000 plus medications, testing, sperm donor and monitoring so it comes to about $20,000 total.  I'm hoping I can get support to help me cover the costs.

EDIT: The treatment center I was working with was very good at hiding certain costs, so once I got the total number, it was $33,000, and they needed payment upfront.  That's a deal breaker.  I switch doctors, and the total comes in under $20k, and they're willing to finance $5k.  SO much better!

Would you help me make this happen?  

Even though the number is so high, even small contributions help.  If all goes well, I could be pregnant this summer and welcoming a Spring baby in 2023!

How can you help?  I've saved up a portion of what I need, sold some things, worked longer hours but I still need support to make this dream come true.  If you can't give money, I still appreciate knowing you're in my corner.  Words of encouragement are a HUGE help. 

 

It's exciting, nerve wracking, exhilarating, and humbling.  It's not easy to ask for support, in fact it's pretty vulnerable and difficult to ask at all.  But my hope is to share my life, my journey and my joy.

Often in my job as a dietitian I've found the thing I offer my clients is a space to heal, grow and truly be themselves in safe space.  Over the past 8 years I've poured my heart in to private practice -   creativity and nurturing are my two biggest strengths assets as a care-giving clinician.  As a provider,  nurturing, teaching, supporting and offering others the space to blossom is the calling of my heart.   I am excited to offer some next-level nurturing in this next chapter! 

In my personal life, when I think of some of the things that light up my heart, I think of the love and lessons of when I was a nanny, times spent with my niece and nephews, and being "aunt" to my friends' littles.   It's hard to put in to words how deeply I want to be a momma!
