Early Monday morning, our lives changed in an instant. A fire broke out in the building that houses Lux Lounge. While the fire started on the second floor, our lounge suffered significant smoke and water damage, forcing us to close our doors indefinitely. First and foremost, we are incredibly grateful that no one was injured. We are also thankful to the Rochester Fire Department for their quick response and for preventing an even greater tragedy.


For nearly 25 years, Lux Lounge has been more than just a bar. It's been a place where friends become family, where birthdays, celebrations, and milestones have been shared, and where the South Wedge community has always had a place to gather. Watching something we've poured our hearts into be damaged so suddenly is heartbreaking.


As we begin the long road to recovery, we're asking for the support of our community. Donations will help cover cleanup, repairs, replacing damaged equipment and furnishings, and other expenses needed to reopen our doors. We're also hoping to support our staff, who have unexpectedly lost income while we're closed. Every contribution, no matter the size, brings us one step closer to reopening.
