Help the Ramirez Family Through Their Crisis

The Ramirez family is facing a major financial crisis and desperately needs our community's support. Lucrecia, a devoted mother of two school-age children, has suddenly found herself as the sole provider after devastating circumstances have torn her family apart.
What Happened
In the span of just two months, Lucrecia’s world turned upside down. Her brother, who had stepped in to help support the family after Lucrecia’s husband was no longer able to work and provide for the family, was deported, leaving the family in a huge financial crisis.
Adding to her challenges, their landlord just significantly increased their rent, making their housing situation even more precarious. Despite renting out a room in their home, they are on the brink of eviction.
Current Urgent Needs
* Immediate Housing Security: The family is facing eviction and needs help covering rent, a situation exacerbated by the recent increase, in order to keep her children in their home and school district.
* Transportation: With one income gone, Lucrecia can no longer afford a car payment and insurance, but needs reliable transportation to get to work and take her children to school.
* SDGE: The family was recently able to pay the past due bill with help from a local group but will continue to need assistance with utilities.
* Basic Necessities: Food, utilities, clothes, school supplies, and other essentials of daily life that were previously manageable are now a daily struggle.
About the Family
Although Lucrecia works, her income alone cannot cover the family's basic needs. Her children are good students despite having already been through so much; we are trying to ensure they are free from further trauma and change and they are able to focus on school and just being kids. Despite everything they're facing, this family remains strong, hopeful, and determined to rebuild their lives.
How Your Donation Will Help
Every donation, no matter the size, makes a real difference in helping this family stay together and maintain stability during this incredibly difficult time. It allows the kids to stay in their home and continue at their school, while allowing mom time to work on a long-term plan to dig out of this hole. This family really needs their community to help them through this most difficult time.
