Meet Lucian — a 5-year-old with a giant heart and a bold mission.
While most kids his age are focused on toys or video games, Lucian is learning about how to make a difference. With a love for exploring, reading, a deep compassion for others, and a spark of entrepreneurship, Lucian is on a mission to install official Little Free Libraries across South Florida—and beyond!
You’ve probably seen them before—those charming book-sharing boxes on neighborhood corners. But these aren’t just any homemade boxes. Lucian is fundraising to purchase official registered kits through [LittleFreeLibrary.org], which are connected to a global map and searchable app. That way, every library he builds becomes a lasting, trackable community resource.
Why We’re Raising Money:
Most kids learn to fundraise by selling unhealthy candy, chocolates, or cookies. Lucian? He’s learning to fundraise through service. He’s becoming a young entrepreneur and leader, raising money to:
- Buy registered Little Free Library kits ($300–$600 each)
- Engrave plaques that honor each sponsor (with your name or logo + QR code to your site)
- Hand-paint and personalize each library
- Supply children’s books to get each box started
- Install the boxes with community help (including digging, placing, and sealing them)
- Track each library’s location and maintain them across South Florida
What Makes This Extra Special:
In preparation for kindergarten, Lucian is also learning the importance of giving back. With the support of his mother, he launched Lucian’s Little Library to cultivate compassion, leadership, and entrepreneurial spirit through real-world action.
Focused on literacy and community service, the project reflects a deeper commitment to doing what’s right and building character from an early age.
Lucian is learning not only how to read and explore stories, but how to give back, raise money with intention, and become a mini-entrepreneur with heart. Their shared love for books makes this mission a perfect way to plant the seeds of literacy and kindness throughout their community.
