This is my baby boy Lucas, he was born 6 days ago and diagnosed with an Aortic Coarctation, Atrial Septal Defect and a Hypo-plastic left heart. Basically what this means is his heart is underdeveloped, and at 4 days old he needed to undergo open heart surgery to hopefully help correct it. 

No hospital in the area was able to perform the surgery he needed except Phoenix Children’s, and unfortunately my insurance doesn’t accept it. That being said Phoenix Children’s has done everything in their power to help us, pointing us in all the right directions and explaining how we can make the financial burden a little lighter. We are incredibly grateful for everything they have done, but being only 21 and the primary insurance holder it’s so so hard to be able to financially support all of his needs. We are now on day 7 of being at the hospital, and he will need constant continued care for the foreseeable future. 

Its Christmas day, his first Christmas, and his dad and I are sitting in the hospital room thinking of ways we can make ends meet. The idea for a go fund me came to mind, and I figured even if someone can’t donate maybe they can share to help spread the word to someone who hopefully can help. 

For that reason I figured at the very least it wouldn’t hurt to ask. I’m sure a lot of you understand as a parent you want to do everything you can for your baby, and that’s what we are trying so hard to do. Anything, every share would help us out tremendously.
