My name is Lucas, and I’m reaching out because I need help to finally break free from a cycle of hardship and give my animals, my fiancée, and myself a safe place to call home. Right now, I’m living in a shack on a friend’s grandmother’s property, without running water and relying on filtered creek water just to get by. The environment is tough—her daughter is verbally abusive, perpetually drunk and doesn’t see everything I've done for them. I completely rebuilt their 1998 Subaru with money out of my own pocket, along with extensive home repair and support, and she still threatens to take my cats away. I feel stuck and unseen despite all the work I do to help those around me.
My past has been filled with challenges. I grew up in a broken home, caring for my siblings while facing abuse and instability. I’ve always put others ahead of myself, giving away cars and time to people who wouldn’t do the same for me. Recently, I was accused of a DUI and lost my job and license. I’ve been alcohol-free since April 15th, 2025, but without income or transportation, I’m facing mounting debt and the possibility of jail simply because I can’t pay my way out. I’m seven miles out in the woods, with no way to get to meetings or court, and I feel trapped both physically and mentally.
What I want most is a chance to start over. I’ve found a piece of land that could be a peaceful home for my animals, my fiancée, and me—a place to grow a garden, build a future, and finally feel safe. I dream of starting a nonprofit to help others with transportation and housing, using my skills as a mechanic, carpenter, electrician, and more to give back by teaching and helping. But right now, I need help to get back to working, resolve my legal issues, and secure a place to live. I’ve always tried to help others, and now I’m asking for support to rebuild my life and create a future where I can pay it forward. Any help you can give means the world to me and those I care for.
