Help Luca’s family through troubled times

Hi, my name is Alexis. As many of you know our story, a lot may not. Our sweet little baby boy, Luca, was born on June 30th, 2024, at 35 weeks gestation. Luca was born with a congenital heart disease called pulmonary atresia, which will consist of multiple heart surgeries. Luca had his first heart surgery when he was just two weeks old. He is now 3 months old and has been in and out of the hospital multiple times already.

I just recently have been trying to go back to work as much as I can, as has his father, so we can just make ends meet. It has been extremely difficult trying to do so while needing to be with Luca 24/7, as he is a fragile infant and in his high-risk stage until his next heart surgery, which is supposed to be sometime towards the end of November.

Yesterday, October 5, 2024, our whole world came to a complete stop as Luca went unresponsive and turned blue. His father, Jameson, had to perform CPR on him, and thankfully got him to start breathing again while waiting on first responders. Luca has been readmitted to the children’s hospital where he is receiving excellent care!

I hate asking for help, but we are left with no other options! I am at jeopardy of losing my vehicle, as well as our place to live, as our bills just keep stacking up. I have gone to SIEOC for help with rent; they were able to help with $150, and because they helped us with that, they said that we were not eligible to get help with energy assistance for our electric. We are truly doing the best we can right now with our situation.
