The Long Sought for Pond Protective Association (LSFPPA) is a community organization with the primary mission of monitoring and maintaining the quality of Long Sought for Pond. Formed in the mid-1970s, the association has conducted vegetation and water quality surveys and funded herbicide treatment for non-native invasive vegetation. Since 2018, the Town of Westford Healthy Lakes and Ponds Collaborative has funded annual aquatic surveys and herbicide treatments. In 2025, the responsibility of funding these programs has been returned to the LSFPPA. Anticipated costs for these programs are:
- MassDEP Permitting and Early Spring Pre-Management Survey: $1,500
- Early Spring Herbicide Treatment for Nuisance Vegetation: $8,500
- Mid-Summer Algaecide Treatment: $3,500
- Year-end Survey and Report: $1,500
