Help Lou Ratcliffe rebuild her home

Donation protected
Our names are Callie and Susie, our beautiful friend Lou Ratcliffe suffered a devastating misfortune in the early hours of Sunday morning, with her beloved gooseneck mobile (and permanent) home and all of her life belongings destroyed in an accidental fire.

For anyone who knows Lou as well as we do, you will know she has dedicated her life to helping people through her love of horses. Over the last few years, we have witnessed her exceptional work with horses and handlers to create wonderful connections and education, and provide a safe and nurturing space for people to heal. She travels around WA hosting life-changing clinics all the while living in her beloved gooseneck mobile home ‘Goosey girl’.

Lou has been through a very difficult time over the last few years, tragically losing her life partner Geoff in 2021 and her sister Angie - who lost her battle with cancer in September 2022. Only days later, Lou lost her amazing heart horse Tess in a tragic accident on the Broome plains and farewelled her beautiful mum in January 2023.

Lou left Perth this year with hope in her heart and feeling like her life was finally going in her favour. She was so excited to be heading to Broome to continue her work where she trains and cares for horses who support young aboriginal children in Professor Juli Coffin’s Yawardani Jan-ga equine therapy program.

Sadly on her way to Broome, while she was parked up at Carnarvon race premises, the devastating fire took hold and destroyed everything she needs to survive. It was a miracle that Lou and her beloved horse Sage and dog Mabu were unharmed.

We would love to raise enough to be able to support Lou in building back up her life's belongings and creating another home for her to feel safe and comfortable, and so she can continue on with the incredible work she does with both people and horses.

I'm hoping with all the love in our hearts that Lou has shared with us through the years, this will go far and beyond and we can raise what she needs to get back on her feet and live the life she deserves.

WE LOVE YOU LOU!!!!
