Los Gatos Coffee Roasting Company is an iconic and beloved independent business and community gathering space that has been part of the community for 43 years.
On Thanksgiving, a car plowed through the café’s storefront at a high rate of speed, destroying large portions of the beloved coffee house’s façade and front of house areas. The coffee bar will reopen in December, but damage to the cafe side is so extensive that it’s expected to take six months to rebuild.
The Los Gatan, Los Gatos’ local newspaper, is responding to community calls to help Los Gatos Coffee Roasting Company—and, most importantly, its employees— recover after this devastating incident.
The funds will be used by LGCRC founder Teri Hope to help team members who were affected by the business’ unscheduled closure in the middle of the holiday season, as well as fund any portions of the reconstruction that are not covered by insurance.
This fundraiser is being launched by restaurateur Alex Hult, longtime Los Gatos community member Roger Sanford and Los Gatan publisher Dan Pulcrano, in coordination with Teri Hope.
