Help Lorie Get Back Home to Florida

My name is Pastor Andrew Salinas from the Pentecostals of Dadeville. My wife and I have recently come to know a dear lady named Lorie Hammond, who has fallen on incredibly hard times.

At 55 years old, Lorie never thought she would find herself homeless. Sadly, after losing her husband Kenny to cancer in 2022, this is her reality today. For the past seven weeks, she has been making a temporary home under the Hillabee Bridge (the SSgt. Stacy Green–LCpl. John Sims Memorial Bridge) in Alexander City, along with her three dogs and five cats.

Lorie’s greatest wish is to return home to Inglis, Florida, where she has roots and a support system. To make this possible, we are raising funds to cover the costs of:

A U-Haul truck and trailer (to haul her car)

Gas expenses for the trip

Any additional moving supplies needed

We are also looking for volunteers to help load Lorie’s car as well as move her belongings out of a storage unit in Opelika into the truck before she leaves.

Our goal is to have Lorie and her pets on the road to Florida by next week.
