I'm raising funds for my sister, Lori, as she tries to get back on her feet after losing her husband, Andy. Andy was the love of her life for 35 years, and he passed away last October at just 58 years old after a 12-year battle with oligodendroglioma, chemotherapy, radiation, and three brain surgeries.
At the end of May, after Andy's third brain surgery, he became very sick. Lori and Andy made the move to Florida so Andy's twin brother, Randy, could help care for him. Just 10 days after they arrived, Andy passed away. In the middle of that loss, Lori was left to start over with only her car and a few totes of clothes.
Since then, Lori has been doing everything she can to rebuild. She works 40 hours a week at Walmart, but establishing yourself in a new state is expensive, and it has left her with nothing saved.
Now Lori urgently needs help with the deposit and startup costs to rent a house in Florida. Her living situation has become dire, and she has to be out by December. She is carrying all of this while grieving Andy and trying to create some stability again.
If you can donate or share this fundraiser, it would mean so much. Your support will help Lori secure stable housing and take an important step toward starting over after so much heartbreak.
