Help Loren Get Essential Dialysis Support

My partner has dementia and kidney failure. He has been living in a nursing home for the last four months and gets dialysis for four hours a day each week on Monday, Wednesday, Friday.

I work as a power plant operator for seven 12-hour days straight, then I have seven days off at a time, aside from overtime days I choose to do (which are rare sometimes). I need someone to sit with Loren while he gets his dialysis treatments for two weeks out of the month for those 6 days I’m unable to. He moves during the procedure, which causes his CVC dialysis catheter to plug, and he has to be sent 2-3 hours by ambulance to a different hospital in another city to get it fixed and replaced. At times, he comes back with infections due to this.

I’m unable to sit with him for dialysis on my work weeks, so I need to pay someone to do so such that he doesn’t move and can get the full dialysis treatment. All proceeds will be strictly used to pay for someone to sit with him and ensure he gets the dialysis treatment done and anything else needed to ensure he gets the resources and care he needs. We are asking my sister to sit with him during this time and paying her to do so that he has a familiar face in the unfamiliar area and feels calm, safe and loved when he goes to the dialysis center. This is what we have to do until we get a shunt in him, which will not be as big of an issue if he moves around during the dialysis procedure.
