Help Lomi Psychotherapy Clinic Stay Alive and Well
Donation protected
The Lomi Psychotherapy Clinic in Santa Rosa, CA provides affordable therapy on a sliding scale based on income as well as free grant-and-donor-funded therapy to the most challenged and vulnerable people in our community. For thirty-one years we have trained hundreds of therapists in our mindfulness-based, somatic specialty while providing care to those who are traumatized, abused, depressed, and anxious. We offer them a safe place to navigate difficulties, make changes in their lives, and find direction, hope, and inspiration.
What’s Happening Now? What Is Our URGENT Need?
The Lomi Psychotherapy Clinic is facing an unexpected emergency that threatens our survival. Our County’s Behavioral Health department, whom we have contracted with for the past 8 years, recently informed us that they are taking back $132,064 for work we provided them five years ago, when the same expenses were approved in a previous audit. To date, they have withheld $95,000 for services we have provided since October and the amount withheld will be approximately $120,000 by the end of February. We’ve appealed their actions.
Over the past 5 months, while the County has been withholding expected payments, we have used our reserves, and more, while providing care for their clients. We need to raise an immediate $50,000 to pay our expenses. Once we get over this hump with your help, our on-going cash flow will support us and we will be able to keep our doors open.
Anything we raise over $50,000 will be for our Legacy Fund, where we provide free care to people with no ability to pay:
• $150 can provide 2 sessions to a client who feels isolated and anxious.
• $450 can provide 6 sessions to a fire survivor who is just starting to feel her symptoms of PTSD.
• $900 can provide 12 sessions to a family, struggling to thrive, find ways to connect and communicate.
Please dig deep to help us with this emergency funding so we can continue to serve the most challenged and vulnerable in our community. Can you give a tax-deductible donation of $100, $1000, $10,000, or more? We will send a receipt for tax purposes.
Your donation will help us continue to provide tens of thousands of sessions per year to people who have no other access for desperately needed care. And we will continue our unique training program for therapists who are learning to address trauma, stress and mental illness.
