Yesterday, our family’s world was turned upside down when our beloved Loki was hit by a car.

Loki is now in a specialist veterinary hospital in Buckinghamshire, where he is receiving the urgent care he needs. He has suffered a fractured pelvis and spinal injuries, and the road ahead is still uncertain. He is fighting, and we are doing everything we can to give him the best possible chance of coming home to his family where he belongs ❤️

Loki is not “just a dog” to Kathy and Waine — he is their family, their baby and a huge part of their lives.

Thankfully, they have a high level of pet insurance which is currently helping to cover Loki’s treatment. However, once that cover runs out, any further veterinary costs will have to be paid by Kathy and Waine themselves.

On top of the enormous worry and heartbreak they are already facing, Kathy and Waine are staying in a hotel near the specialist hospital so they can be close to Loki, be there for him, and make important decisions about his care as things develop. This also means covering accommodation, food and other living expenses away from home.

Kathy is self-employed, so being away from work during this incredibly difficult time also means a significant loss of income, adding even more financial pressure when their only focus should be on Loki and getting him through this.

For anyone who knows Kathy, you will know that she has an absolute heart of gold. She is the kind of person who would do anything for anyone. She plays such a huge part in our local fitness community and is always there to support, encourage and help others whenever they need her.

Now, it’s our turn to support her ❤️

We want Kathy and Waine to be able to focus entirely on Loki — to be by his side, make the decisions he needs, and give him every chance of recovery — without having to worry about the financial stress that comes with such a devastating accident.
