Help Logan and Alyssa During Medical Crisis

Help Support Logan and His Family During a Medical Emergency

On Tuesday, April 8th, Logan was at work when he was suddenly overcome by a sharp pain in his chest and struggled to breathe. He was rushed to the hospital, where doctors quickly diagnosed him with a spontaneous pneumothorax—a collapsed lung.

A chest tube was inserted in the emergency room to release the trapped air in his chest cavity, and he was admitted for further treatment. The next day, Logan underwent a second procedure to place another chest tube higher in his chest to help relieve the remaining pressure.

At this time, it’s unclear how long Logan will remain hospitalized. He will also need follow-up care and genetic testing after discharge to determine whether an underlying condition may have caused this unexpected health emergency.

Logan and Alyssa are not ones to ask for help, and this GoFundMe was not something they requested. It was created by family who simply wanted to ease some of the burden during this unexpected and difficult time. Logan plans to return to work as soon as he’s cleared by his doctors, and Alyssa will do the same once he’s discharged and on the road to recovery. In the meantime, any amount of support—no matter how small—will make a big difference in helping them cover everyday expenses and care for their two little girls as they focus on healing and getting back on their feet.

Thank you for your kindness, love, and support.

Update on Logan Garner. Chest tube is still in. They turned the suction off on Thursday to see how his lung would do and unfortunately had to turn it back on a few hours later. He has been getting 2 chest x rays a day and so far, no changes and his left lung is not yet 100% so they haven’t attempted it again. If there are not any improvements, the next steps will be surgery. I don’t know any specifics on what the surgery will entail as of now but will know more if it comes to that in the next few days. Right now, I don’t see him getting out of the hospital anytime soon. He is stressed and scared and as his mom, I wish I could make it all better or take his place. Alyssa has been great and stayed by his side and all the family helping with the girls has been amazing. Please keep them in all in your thoughts. It has been a scary experience to navigate.
