On Friday, 8/27, local Bluewell volunteer firefighter Cory Himes was out cutting trees and clearing roads due to Hurricane Helene when he was told by a fellow firefighter that a tree had fallen through his family home. When he returned, he found not one, but four trees had fallen directly through the center of his house, destroying everything. Unfortunately, there was no insurance since the home had just been put in his name after his grandma's passing. To say we are devastated is an understatement. Our 4-year-old daughter lost everything and not much could be saved in the home. Due to how bad the damage is, we will have to rebuild, and it will be costly. It's also something we weren't prepared for. Cory gives so much of his time to his community and is always the friend that comes through when needed, and we are hoping the community can help give back during this heartbreaking loss and time of need. If you can't donate, we totally understand, and from the bottom of our hearts, we appreciate every prayer you can send our way and every share of this fundraiser.
