We are a group of dedicated paramedic students whose futures were unexpectedly thrown into uncertainty after the sudden loss of our educational program. Many of us have invested countless hours, sacrificed time with our families, balanced jobs, and taken on financial burdens to pursue our dream of becoming paramedics and serving our communities.

We entered this program with one goal: to complete our education and become healthcare providers capable of answering calls for help during people’s worst moments. Unfortunately, due to circumstances beyond our control, we are now being forced to seek placement in new programs in order to continue our education.

Transferring is not simple. Many of us now face additional tuition costs, application fees, books, uniforms, travel expenses, and unexpected financial barriers. Some students may even have to repeat coursework or relocate to continue pursuing this career path.

Many of the paramedic students also attempted to seek financial assistance, guidance, and stability in order to transfer into other programs and continue our education. Unfortunately, little to no support or solutions were provided to help students navigate this sudden transition. Many of us are now left struggling financially and emotionally, unsure of how we will afford to transfer or continue pursuing the careers we have worked so hard toward
