Help Local Florist Who Did Not Get Paid

Donation protected

This is Monica & Eddie Oritz. They own Ninaʼs Flowers in Encinitas, CA. They were the ones behind the absolutely gorgeous flowers at both years of the West Coast Dressage Festival.

Last year, 2019, which was the second year of the festival, they provided absolutely beautiful flowers for the Hospitality tent and VIP tables. If you were there, you will certainly remember the flowers.

Eddie and Monica are so kind and trusting. Any time they have done arrangements for me and Peridot, they are amazingly responsive and Monica's arrangements are breathtaking. I love giving them my business and will continue to do so. I hope if you need flowers in the future, you will consider giving your business to them also. Here is their website: http://www.ninasflowers.net/

They are a small business and so any flowers they purchase to put into arrangements have to be paid for out of their own pockets. Any money lost is money that they don't take home to their family.

I was so upset to learn that they had not been paid at all for any of the flowers they did for the Festival last year.

They provided a LOT of spectacular flower arrangements for 4 shows. They were promised they would be paid, but the show organizer did not pay them and has stopped responding to them.   This is not right.

What happened with the Festival is so sad for our community, and I'm excited to see new shows already happening this year. We have an amazing group of people in our Dressage community. We are resilient and dedicated to our sport, and each of you are always willing to jump in to support and encourage those trying to do great things like new shows or clinics. You are even more amazing at supporting those in our community in need of help. I love that about our community and about all of you.

I'm hoping that everyone will feel moved and inspired to jump in now and help Eddie and Monica at least recover some of their costs, or better yet, the entire amount that was owed to them for their work on the festival shows. Not only did Monica do incredible arrangements, but Eddie and Monica would personally deliver the flowers to Temecula, which is a long drive for them. They should have been paid for the time and for their incredible work.

I know this isn't your responsibility or mine - none of us created the problem. But in a world where the news is so stressful and negative right now, it is a way to give back and do something positive. To pay it forward.

If you want to try to help make things right for this lovely couple, please consider making a contribution to this campaign. Every dime will go directly to them.

Thank you in advance for your support. I know it means the world to them, and it does to me too.
