Help Charlie Goodnight

Charlotte and Addalyn were born at 31 weeks gestation due to premature labor. Charlotte "Charlie" weighed 3 lbs 11 oz at birth. She suffered from IUGR(Inter Uterine Growth Restriction), which is common in twins. She had to be ventilated immediately and spent 36 hours on a breathing tube. When she was six days old she was diagnosed with spinal meningitis and a staph infection which caused her to drop to 3 lbs. She was treated with an aggressive antibiotic that left her 80% deaf in her left ear. She spent 31 days in the NICU. Eight days after being discharged Charlie was diagnosed with RSV. She spent three days on the pediatric floor at Midland memorial hospital before she was once again intubated and airlifted to a Pediatric ICU in Lubbock. She spent 10 days in the PICU on a ventilator and an additional 8 days on a CPAP machine. After being released she was diagnosed with BPD (Bronchial Pulmonary Displasia) and Chronic Lung Disease. During this time Charlie was also diagnosed with developmental delays. Charlie once again was hospitalized in April 2018 at San Antonio Methodist Children’s hospital. She was diagnosed with Rhino Virus(a simple cold) that unfortunately sent her into respiratory failure. She suffered two collapsed lungs and developed pneumonia during her 9 day stay in the Pediatric ICU. Upon her release from San Antonio, she was diagnosed with a PDA (Patent Ductus Arteriosus). She will soon have to have a PDA ligation surgery to remedy the problem. Doctors continue to run tests trying to find the cause and solution of Charlie’s lung problems. Every time Charlie has been sick, she has gone into respiratory failure. Charlie also struggles with low muscle tone and delayed gross motor skills. She is seen by a physical therapist twice a week.
