Little Bit is my 3-year-old Pomeranian, and my absolute bestie. Like a young child, she loves to stay close by my side and be part of whatever I’m doing. On November 22, while I was preparing my little farm for winter, something caught her attention and in an instant, she crossed our country road and was hit by a car. Dropping to my knees by her side, i thought surely she had died. As I held her close and spoke softly to her, she blinked and began to breathe again.

The medical staff at Cornell Veterinary Hospital stabilized her and kept her comfortable while accessing her injuries and providing a prognosis. Incredibly, there was no internal bleeding. However, she suffered multiple skull fractures resulting in a traumatic brain injury. Her journey to recovery will take weeks and perhaps months. She is, however, anticipated to recover fully.
