Our friend Christy has a delightfully macabre interest in everything that can go wrong with the human body. On February 14, 2023, that interest saved our friend Jenn’s life.

Christy and Jenn are housemates. Late at night, Jenn woke up with partial paralysis on one side and increasingly slurred speech. Christy was able to quickly identify that Jenn was having a stroke and call 911. She even got assertive with an EMT who kept asking if Jenn (who does not drink) was simply very drunk!

Because of Christy’s quick thinking, expertise, and guts, Jenn was able to get to the hospital FAST, which means that she has a shot at a full recovery - which would not have been possible otherwise.

The house that Christy and Jenn live in belongs to Jenn's parents, who are now moving in to help Jenn recover and remodeling the house to make it accessible. This abruptly leaves Christy in need of a new place to live.

Christy is a brilliant artist, a wonderful friend, and now a genuine hero. Seattle is an expensive city and she needs and deserves material support from our community to help her make her way forward after this devastating setback.
