Our Family Lost Everything Two Days Before Christmas

My name is Daniel, and I’m raising funds for my mother Lisa (71) and four family members who lost their home to a devastating fire on December 23rd in Big Lake, Alaska.

Two days before Christmas, my mother’s house burned to the ground. Everyone made it out alive—my mother Lisa, my grandmother Shirley (88), my brother William (48), my aunt Kathy (67), and my cousin Tom (51)—but they lost everything. Every possession, every memento, every piece of their lives went up in flames.

They’re now facing an Alaskan winter without shelter, without belongings, and without fire insurance. The policy had lapsed, leaving them with nothing but the clothes they were wearing when they escaped.

Five people, including an 88-year-old woman, are starting over from absolute zero in the middle of winter. They need immediate help with:

- Temporary housing

- Winter clothing and basic necessities

- Rebuilding or securing permanent shelter

- Replacing essential medications and documents

No one should face homelessness in an Alaska winter, especially not at Christmas. Every dollar will go directly to helping them rebuild their lives from the ashes.
