Help Lisa Mae Reconnect with Family and Heal

Dear Friends, Family, and Supporters,

As I approach a milestone birthday, I am reaching out with a heartfelt request that blends my need for healing with a deep desire for family connection. Over the past three years, life has thrown me challenges that have made it increasingly difficult to continue my work and find personal peace. I've been making myself and my wellness a priority and succeeding for the most part. Today, I humbly ask for your support to help me continue on that journey.

My Health and Work Struggles:

Every day, I battle extreme pain due to damage in my ulnar nerve caused by my current laptop setup. This has made typing and using my computer an excruciating task, yet my work demands that I spend countless hours on my computer. To alleviate this pain and continue my work, I need a new ergonomic laptop setup, complete with a wrist pad, mouse, and external keyboard designed to support my healing and overall health.

Navigating Grief and Loss:

I have faced the devastating loss of three people who were very dear to me. The most recent loss was my beloved aunt just two weeks ago, and one of my best friends in October. Additionally, my second mom is currently battling terminal cancer and heart failure. These losses have deeply affected me, highlighting the importance of family and connection. I haven't had a lot of time to say goodbye or to spend time with the humans that mean so much to me. I regret not being able to spend more quality time with my family.

The Gift of Family:

I have been away from home since 1999, and it has been two years since I last saw my parents and siblings. Recently, I reconnected on Facebook with a cherished family friend from my childhood, who taught me to bake and cook. She is now in her 80s, and I haven’t seen her since I was 12. Living alone in California has been isolating, and dealing with grief, depression, and recovery from a car accident and knee surgery without family support has been incredibly challenging.

Last night I suffered an unexpected asthma attack that prompted me needing a "life support ambulance." As I was gasping for breath alone, I really came to understand that I really need my family and close friends beside me.

For my birthday, I am asking for the gift of family. I dream of taking a road trip to visit my parents, siblings, and this dear family friend, to spend time with them and express how much they mean to me. This journey would be a healing balm to my soul, helping me find comfort and joy as I build out the next chapter of my life.

Why I Need Your Help:

This has been one of the hardest seasons financially. My life's work, centered around Impact and DEI, has faced political challenges, making it difficult to secure steady income. Every dollar I make is invested into my vision for the Wonder Tech Fest, leaving little for personal needs. Your support will help me get the ergonomic computer setup I need to work without pain and make this family road trip a reality.
