For years, my daughters Bella and Makayla and I have always struggled with our living arragements, never really having a place of our own. As a single parent, I’ve worked hard to support my girls and give them the best life possible, but it’s been a constant struggle to find stability. Now, thanks to my new job I found a place I can afford on my own, I finally have the chance to give us a home that’s truly ours—a place where we can feel safe and secure without worrying every month about how we’ll make rent.

My daughter Bella is 14. Its important she have more stability as she enters these next few teen years. She has been my teammate through all of this. Makayla, my 18-year-old has as well. She has recently graduated high school and is now attending Paul Mitchell School for cosmetology. She still stays at home some nights, and having a stable place means a lot to her as she starts this new chapter. We’ve faced a lot together, and I’m so proud of the young people my daughters are becoming. This move would mean everything to us. It’s not just about having a roof over our heads; it’s about finally having a space where we can build new memories and focus on our future. I can afford the monthly rent at this new place, but the upfront costs—like the security deposit and first month’s rent—are more than I can manage on my own right now.
