I am raising funds for my brother Lionel Wainford. He is 66 and retired. Lionel is a Navy veteran, married and has 1 adult son. About 6 years ago he had throat cancer and beat it. 4 months ago, he again received those terrible words, but this time it's worse. He has esophageal cancer, with lymphnodes in his upper chest possibly affected, and a place on his colon that needs checked out. He has had a pretty hard time of it so far. He's lost more than 20 lbs. and because he wasn't able to keep food down, they put a Stent in the esophagus, which has helped, but he can only eat small amounts several times a days.

He has had 6 weeks of chemo and 7 weeks of radiation. He's also getting infusions weekly, which helps him feel better. The doctors now tell him he needs a PET scan and biopsy. He still has a long ways to go as the doctor's decide what the next steps will be after the tests.

He and Ruth, his wife, have remained extremely positive throughout this ordeal. He is keeping his faith and knows that God is with him.
