Linda Leacock is my mother-in-law, and she’s the heart of our home. After her recent divorce, our family is facing the possibility of losing the house we all live in. Linda is an ASD Preschool Teacher, working with autistic children, and she juggles a second job as a Registered Behavioral Technician. On top of that, she’s a mom of four, a bonus mom to two, and a special needs grandma who helps care for her granddaughter who has Cerebral Palsy, Lennox Gastaut Syndrome (Epilepsy), Trach. dependent, G-Tube dependent, & just overall medically complex…Linda supports our household every day. She’s always gone above and beyond for her family, working tirelessly to keep us together. She has been working non-stop to re-build her credit, but of course as life hits, our floors recently fell in, downstairs, so that was another $16k, our washer, dryer, AND fridge all broke last year, I could go on for hours…She is trying her hardest to build her credit enough to buy out the house but the world just keeps on turning and other huge expenses- that are an absolute necessity keeps getting in the way! 

The urgency is real: we have just under two years—until Linda’s daughter Arabella turns 18—to raise enough money to pay off her ex-husband’s share of the house. If we don’t, we risk losing our home and the stability it provides for everyone living here. Every person in our household is either a child or working hard to pitch in, but the financial challenge is overwhelming. Linda hates asking for help, so I’m reaching out on behalf of her, myself, and the seven others who depend on this home.

The money raised will go directly toward paying off Linda’s ex-husband’s share, helping us keep our home and avoid displacement. The whole house will be so grateful to have stable housing again—it will bring extreme relief to everyone here.
