I’ve known Lili and her family since high school. We met through church and religion classes, and I’ve always admired how close knit and caring their family is. No family should ever have to face what they are going through right now, which is why I’m asking for your help.
On December 11th, Lili’s father, Roberto, was taken by ICE and is currently being detained at Clark County Jail in Jeffersonville. Despite having no charges against him and a judge ordering his release on bond, the facility—now an immigration detention center—has refused to let him go. Roberto has lived in the United States for 25 years, has a spotless record, and has always contributed to his community, paying taxes and following the same rules as any American. He is the main provider for the family, and with Lili’s mom not working, the burden on them has become overwhelming.
The funds raised here will go directly toward legal fees for lawyers, as well as living expenses and basic necessities like food. Every donation will help Lili’s family manage during this incredibly difficult time and bring them one step closer to having Roberto back home where he belongs. Lili and her family deserve stability, peace, and the chance to start the new year with hope. Please consider helping make their burden a little lighter—your support means the world to them.
