Hi, my name is Megan and I'm fundraising for my Sister in law & brother and there 3 beautiful children.
October 2024 my sister in law Libby got told the news she had a pituitary tumor, Doctors did advise in most cases these kind of tumors are benign. Libby become quite poorly as the months went on where my brother had to give up work to help look after her and there 3 young children, Miller aged 8, Dax aged 6 and Forest aged 3. After alot of back and forth of hospital appointments, April this year libby attended a routine hospital appointment at birmingham Queen Elizabeth hospital, to be told she needed emergency mri due to a blur in her vision that had developed. That same day she was told she needed emergency surgery and would have to stay in hospital to have the tumor removed the next day. On the 7th May libby received a phone call from birmingham hospital to be asked if she could make her way there for emergency lumbar puncture. Once there libby received the devastating news that the tumor they removed is in fact a very aggressive and rare form of cancer, that can only normally be found in young children. Libby is only 31 years of age and now as to spend the next 6 weeks, 5 times a week having intense radiotherapy at Birmingham Queen Elizabeth hospital on her brain and spine and then will have to start chemotherapy.
Whilst going through all of this they are also waiting to be rehomed with Wolverhampton Council, which is taking forever. They are currently living in emergency accommodation which is not the best and not in a ideal location or the best for libbys health condition. With all the stress of this going on and libby being unwell, I wanted to try and take some pressure off them and to try and raise some money to help them as a family of 5, especially with my brother Haiden not being able to work at the moment and there housing crisis.
They have had some really hard times lately and as a family we want to give them as much positive energy and support them all through this awful time they are going through. Libby is a warrior and she's remaining strong and positive, her whole attitude is remarkable ❤️
