This past year has been full of challenges for my son, Liam — but through it all, he found strength, healing, and hope on the mountain bike trails with the Sam Ramon Valley High Mountain Bike club this upcoming year.

After a serious injury that resulted in the loss of part of his middle finger, Liam underwent surgery and a long road to recovery. During that time, he struggled to find confidence again, and much worry about mountain biking.

After years of trying different sports, Liam finally found his passion riding with the San Ramon Valley High Mountain Bike Team. He saved up his own money, friends and family helped him close the gap, and together we were able to get him a high-performance bike that met the specific safety and performance requirements of his school team.

Then — it was stolen.

That bike meant everything to Liam. It wasn’t just a ride; it was a symbol of his hard work, healing, and the community that rallied behind him. And it wasn’t just any bike — the team has strict standards for what’s allowed on their trails for safety and competitive reasons. So replacing it isn’t as simple as buying a standard mountain bike from a sporting goods store.

With the new school season fast approaching in August and team training starting soon, we’re hoping to raise funds to replace Liam’s stolen bike so he can stay on the team and continue doing what he loves most.
