Hi everyone, my name is Jorge Diaz, and I’m creating this fundraiser on behalf of Alissa Kotrba and Michael Redmond for their beloved Leslie Kotrba.

After nearly 11 years of bravely battling colorectal cancer, Leslie has fought with unmatched strength, courage, and grace. Over the years, she has endured countless treatments, surgeries, and hospital stays, always with the same radiant spirit that has inspired everyone around her. Sadly, her cancer has now metastasized to her liver, lungs, brain, and tongue, and there are no remaining curative options.

Leslie was recently sent from her rehabilitation center to the emergency room after becoming unresponsive. Doctors discovered a blood clot in her lungs surrounded by innumerable tumors. Due to the extensive bleeding in her brain, she could not safely receive treatment for the clot.

Through all of this, Leslie has continued to fight for every precious moment she can. Her daughter Alissa and her partner of 16 years, Michael Redmond, have made sure she receives the best care possible, arranging her transfer to Northwest Community Hospital where her trusted Illinois Cancer Specialist team, who has been by her side from the very beginning, continues to support her.

This fundraiser is to help Alissa and Michael cover the medical bills, in-home hospice care, and end-of-life arrangements as they prepare to bring Leslie home to be surrounded by love and peace.
