Help Leonard Walk Toward a New Beginning
Leonard and Kumudu have been through a storm—literally and spiritually.
Last year, Leonard did business with someone he thought he could trust. That man tried to burn Leonard’s hotel down with gasoline. Just weeks later, Leonard was hit by a drunk tuk tuk driver while riding his motorcycle—the only way he can get to work. He spent months in the hospital. His leg got infected. He almost lost it. But today, he’s walking again. Slowly. Every step is a miracle.
As if that wasn’t enough, Kumudu—Leonard’s wife—contracted elephantiasis, a painful skin disease from a mosquito bite. She’s been battling swelling, pain, and shame, all while caring for Leonard and their 19-year-old daughter.
Tourism is rising in Sri Lanka, but not where Leonard lives. His part of the coast has been impacted by drug mafia activity and violence. As a result, travelers stay away—and Leonard’s once-thriving guesthouse and restaurant sit mostly empty.
He’s doing everything he can.
He walks to the beach daily to try and bring guests in.
He talks to people in town.
He offers home-cooked meals.
He’s even put his family land up for sale.
But it’s not enough.
Their daughter had to drop out of college to help at home. She’s struggling. She’d love to go back.
Kumudu needs to see a specialist for her leg.
Leonard’s medical bills continue to mount.
And now—the roof of their home is collapsing due to Monkey damage, with monsoon season just around the corner.
They could use far more than this. But $1,500 is the bare minimum they need to survive the next few rainy months safely.

My name is Anthony Levy. I know this family personally.
I’ll be withdrawing the funds and transferring them directly to Leonard and Kumudu for roof repairs and essential needs.
If 100 people gave just $15, we’d get there.
If you can give more, it will go to medical care and help their daughter return to school.
Thank you for showing up.
This is how we build a better world.
