Help Leon,Sandra and Cris finish their home!!

We have just begun our journey with our new baby Leon. Sandra and I love him soooo much!!! We want to give him the best loving home that we can.

Sandra and I have been patiently and persistently remodeling the house I had the good fortune to be able to buy in 2018. It had a bad roof, smoke damage, and wood rot in the bathrooms.

I also feel very fortunate that I’ve had a good job to slowly but surely fix things up. I’ve been working on this project for over 5 years.

We now feel the urgency of needing to finish this project as the city building permit office has given me till November 11 to complete. Sandra’s father has recently lent us money to finish the project, but the budget is still tight.

Recently, we were scammed out of $22,000 by someone who hacked our electrician's email.

It feels pretty awful. We’ve gone through all the feelings of self-blame, shame, embarrassment, and just feeling stupid.

At the time of the scam, we were both working overtime trying to prepare for our baby and continue the home project.

We had been regularly corresponding with the electrician via email. The scammer used his exact email to request payments.

We mistakenly wired money in eagerness to kick off the electrical work.

Shortly after, our son Leon was born. (Our greatest joy!!!)

Several weeks passed, our electrician's crew came and completed 2/3rds of the work. The electrician asked me for pay in person. I asked if he had not received our payments. To all of our shock, we realized the scam had taken place. The money vaporized.

We are now trying our best to keep our spirits up. We are all safe and healthy and have the great love of being a family. We are still very fortunate and privileged to have all that we have.

We are sad to have lost this family money that was lent to us. And the longer this project drags on, the more it will cost us.

So I had a thought that if we had 220 friends that could each afford to give us a hundred dollars, we would be back on track to completing the project in time for the permit to not run out.

Of course, that is not the mandatory amount. We’d be grateful for any amount you can give. and I hope that maybe we have more than 220 friends.

Also, we want to request that you don’t make your donation anonymously, that way we can return your contribution in case the bank can recover our funds, which may take months. If we do get this money back we will pay everyone back.
