Help “Leo the Lion” and His Family Get Back on the Road
Hi everyone,
Robin and I have been friends with Jennie, Alan, Alana, and Leo since we first met them during a fundraiser for Baby Leo back in 2020. Over the years, we’ve watched this incredible family face unimaginable challenges with strength, love, and hope.
For those who don’t know, **Leo was born with Holoprosencephaly (HPE)** — a rare congenital condition where the brain doesn’t fully divide into the right and left hemispheres. This can lead to serious neurological and facial development complications. In Leo’s case, it has meant that he is bedridden and depends on a ventilator 24/7 for breathing.
Despite everything he faces, Leo continues to live up to his nickname — **“Leo the Lion.”** He’s a fighter, and his spirit inspires everyone who meets him.
Unfortunately, the family’s **wheelchair-accessible van** — their only means of safely transporting Leo to and from his many medical appointments — has recently suffered a major transmission failure and is no longer drivable. The cost of repairing it is far beyond what the family can manage, and replacement is urgently needed.
Reliable transportation is absolutely essential for Leo’s care. Without it, simple things like doctor visits, therapy sessions, and even short family outings become incredibly difficult or impossible.
Because of the shortage of skilled nursing staff available locally, **Jennie (Leo’s mom)** is unable to work as often as she’d like. Much of her time is devoted to providing the round-the-clock care that Leo requires. The financial strain is heavy, but their love and determination never waver.
We’re reaching out to our community — to friends, family, and anyone with a heart to help — to ask for your support.
How You Can Help
Your donation will go directly toward the purchase of a **reliable, wheelchair-accessible van** so that Leo can get to his medical appointments safely and the family can regain a small sense of normalcy in their daily lives.
Every contribution, no matter the size, makes a difference. Even sharing this campaign helps more than you know.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for helping Leo and his amazing family. Together, we can get them back on the road and give them one less thing to worry about.

With gratitude,
**Robin & Chas**
