As published author & community activist living among DC’s homeless community, Leo Gnawa is a true diamond in the rough. His mission is to create a greater awareness and consciousness about homelessness through his book Homeless Lives Matter - My Homeless Story.
Recently discovering Leo and his talents on Instagram (@homelesslivesmatterbook), his page and book focuses on raising awareness of the trials and tribulations the homeless community faces on a daily basis. Most people within the community have come across tough times within their lives and are hopeful each day brings peace, love and blessings. Leo strives to be a pillar of hope for the community and reverse the negative stigma towards homelessness.
Leo is currently in the process of writing his second book! Unfortunately this past weekend his laptop was damaged while attempting to find shelter from the recent storms. This obstacle is preventing Leo from completing his book and earning a living which he then shares among his neighbors living within the homeless community. I am hoping to raise funds to help Leo salvage his laptop or gift him with a new laptop and solar power charging bank so he may continue working on his craft!
Leo truly is so gracious, kind and works tirelessly to provide a living for himself and those around him. He selflessly provides to others who have little to nothing and are just attempting to survive each day.
I hope you can find it in your heart to contribute any amount to Leo’s new laptop and charging bank. Any additional funds will be given to Leo to use as he sees fit. Please help us achieve this goal in order to lift Leo as he continues to lift others as an author and community activist.
